Role Description

Provide practical sound legal advice and counsel to internal teams and management on all legal issues concerning the employment relationship, including:

Employment agreement review

Leaves and benefits
-
Workplace policies
-
Protected status rights
-
Terminations and restructuring in the context of our EOR services

Draft and negotiate employment agreements and mutual separation/exit agreements, and employment-related documentation.

Monitor and interpret employment law developments across APAC and other international jurisdictions, and proactively update internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance.

Support client onboarding and offboarding processes by summarizing country-specific employment risks, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This role will be partially client-facing.

Strategically and cost-effectively manage and partner with outside counsel in employment litigation matters.

Advising and counselling on day-to-day issues as well as strategic and systemic projects.

Support internal training initiatives by providing legal guidance on labor law topics relevant to client-facing teams and regional HR partners.
Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in an APAC jurisdiction and in good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted.

4+ years of relevant experience practicing employment law within the APAC region where licensed. Experience in both law firm practice and in-house work preferred.

Strong research skills and a strong command of employment laws, regulations, and best practices across multiple APAC jurisdictions, and stay current on legislative changes.

Substantive experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements and other employment-related documentation both domestically and internationally.

Comfortable working independently across jurisdictions with an established track record of partnering across legal, HR, sales, and compliance functions.

Experience in Employer of Record (EOR) will be a plus.

Strong fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
