Role Description
Our client, a well-established insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Risk Analyst to join their growing team. This is a highly specialized role focused on complex coverage analysis, risk evaluation, and claim strategy. The individual will serve as a trusted technical resource, partnering closely with claims leadership and defense counsel on high-exposure matters.

Analyze complex insurance policies and provide comprehensive coverage opinions.

Draft Reservation of Rights (ROR), Disclaimer, and Coverage Position letters.

Review and evaluate tenders of defense and indemnity.

Perform detailed coverage analyses involving primary, excess, umbrella, and specialty insurance policies.

Identify and evaluate potential coverage issues, exclusions, endorsements, and policy triggers.

Provide strategic recommendations regarding liability exposure and claim resolution.

Collaborate with claims professionals, underwriting, legal counsel, and management on complex claims.

Assist in litigation strategy and monitor high-exposure claims involving complex legal and coverage issues.

Research emerging case law and regulatory developments impacting claim handling and coverage interpretation.

Serve as a technical resource and mentor to claims staff regarding coverage interpretation and best practices.

Participate in large-loss reviews, claim audits, and risk management initiatives.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.

10+ years of insurance claims, coverage, or insurance defense experience.

Extensive experience drafting:

Reservation of Rights (ROR) letters

Disclaimer letters

Coverage position letters
-
Tender responses
-
Advanced knowledge of Commercial General Liability (CGL).

Strong understanding of policy interpretation and insurance contract law.

Experience analyzing complex multi-party liability claims.

Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal communication and ability to explain complex coverage issues to both legal and non-legal audiences.

Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority matters simultaneously.
