Role Description
Under general direction and with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to manage legal matters that involve Fixed Income Capital Markets division of Raymond James (FICM) (the βassigned functional area(s)β). Legal matters are primarily transactional, in support of the institutional FICM sales and trading desks and underwriting and investment banking, but also includes support on litigation or regulatory matters.

Drafting, reviewing, and advising on a variety of agreements ranging from NDAs and engagement letters to complex securities transaction-related documents.

May lead major projects, programs or processes that have significant business impact and involve cross-functional teams.

Influences strategic direction, develops tactical plans, and completes complex assignments with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.

Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems or needs.

Maintains extensive contact with internal customers, Senior Management, and outside counsel to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex legal issues with significant impact.
Qualifications

Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials and minimum eight (10) years of specific experience in the relevant practice area(s) (law firm, regulator or self-regulatory organization, and/or in-house in a related area involving financial services industry preferred).

Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Researching and analyzing laws and regulations related to a broker-dealer and/or the assigned functional area, if applicable.

Preparing and delivering written and oral presentations on legal issues to associates of all levels.
