Role Description
We are recruiting a Residential Conveyancer to join a growing property team on a fully remote basis. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters including:

Sales

Purchases
-
Remortgages
-
Transfers of equity
-
Leasehold transactions
The role suits an organised, client‑focused conveyancer who thrives working independently while collaborating with colleagues and third parties to deliver pragmatic legal solutions. The team is recognised for high quality client care, technical accuracy and efficient case handling. This is a remote role with regular virtual team contact and occasional in‑person meetings as required.
Salary from £45,000
Key responsibilities include:

Manage a caseload of residential property transactions from instruction to completion, ensuring matters progress promptly and clients receive clear, practical advice.

Carry out pre‑transaction checks including investigation of title, searches, leases, planning and restrictive covenants; identify and advise on risks and necessary actions.

Prepare, review and negotiate contracts, transfer deeds, mortgage deeds, lease documentation and related conveyancing paperwork in line with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.

Liaise with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors, local authorities and other third parties to obtain information, resolve queries and progress matters to completion.

Undertake anti‑money laundering (AML) and client identity checks, ensure files are compliant and audit‑ready and follow firm policies and regulatory obligations.

Manage completions, post‑completion registration and indemnity matters, ensuring accurate reporting of file activity and cost recovery where appropriate.

Provide clear cost estimates and client care communications, record time and costs accurately and assist with billing processes.

Identify and escalate complex or high‑risk matters, seek specialist input where necessary and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

Contribute to the development of precedents, checklists and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and share best practice with colleagues.

Support and mentor junior colleagues, offering supervision on files, training and technical guidance.
Qualifications

Great knowledge of residential property law, title matters, leasehold/freehold issues and also more complex work.

Experience of working with lenders, preparing and reviewing mortgage documentation and managing lender requirements to completion.

Excellent drafting skills with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of client care.

Good case and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a remote working environment.

Familiarity with case management systems, e‑conveyancing processes and a willingness to support digital workflows and process improvement.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and third parties remotely.
