Role Description
As a Research & Writing Attorney, you will provide the legal analysis and drafting that support our trial attorneysโ mission: maximizing recovery for the value of our clientsโ harm and the wrong that caused it. You will be a key member of a team dedicated to making a meaningful impact for injured clients across New Mexico.
Duties / Responsibilities

Legal Research:

Research New Mexico and applicable law on liability, damages, coverage, and procedural issues arising in personal injury and premises liability matters.

Monitor and summarize developments in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court rules relevant to the firmโs practice.

Drafting:

Prepare motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda in support of pre-litigation and litigation case teams.

Draft discovery-related legal analysis and assist with pleadings as needed.

Case Strategy Support:

Collaborate with trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal issues, anticipate defense arguments, and strengthen case positions.

Provide research support for settlement negotiations, mediation, and trial preparation.

General Responsibilities:

Deliver timely, well-supported written work product that meets firm quality standards.

Collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff to ensure cases move efficiently through the process.
Qualifications
-
Active license to practice law in New Mexico, or eligibility for admission.

Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to translate research into persuasive, well-supported drafts.

Experience drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.

Personal injury or civil litigation experience preferred; insurance defense or appellate background is a plus.

Ability to work collaboratively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across multiple case teams and manage competing deadlines.
