[Hiring] Regulatory Affairs Specialist @Vernacare International

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our growing Regulatory Affairs team. This role is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance across a diverse product portfolio, including cosmetics, general consumer products, and machinery products.

You will work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Commercial teams to ensure products meet applicable UK, EU, and global regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a key point of contact for regulatory affairs matters across the business.
• Maintain and update product files and technical documentation.
• Monitor and interpret global cosmetic regulations, including UK, EU, and US requirements.
• Review formulations, labelling, and marketing claims to ensure compliance.
• Support new product development activities by providing regulatory guidance from concept through commercialisation.
• Prepare and submit regulatory documentation, notifications, and registrations where required.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, economic operators, and external partners.
• Conduct regulatory assessments, ingredient reviews, and risk assessments.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate business impacts.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain regulatory records and compliance documentation.
• Work alongside Quality Assurance teams to support post-market surveillance, vigilance, and compliance activities.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' Regulatory Affairs experience within the cosmetics industry.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009
  • UK Cosmetics Regulation
  • ISO 22716 (Cosmetic GMP)
  • MoCRA requirements
• Experience preparing regulatory submissions for international markets including the EU, USA, and Canada.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities and economic operators.
• Knowledge of post-market surveillance and vigilance processes.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Requirements

• Experience with EU General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988.
• Knowledge of UK General Product Safety Regulations.
• Experience or knowledge of Machinery Regulations and machinery safety compliance.
• Internal audit experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.
