Role Description
As a Patent Assistant / Patent Paralegal, you will work alongside U.S. patent attorneys and U.S. registered agents to drive the progress of client patent portfolios, contributing to our Denver‑based U.S. practice while collaborating closely with colleagues across EIP’s international offices.

Take ownership of defined aspects of U.S. and international patent work.

Apply knowledge of patent procedure to manage matters proactively.

Ensure deadlines are met and keep portfolios moving efficiently.

Maintain a strong understanding of EIP, its operations, and key personnel.

Work as a trusted part of the wider team, anticipating needs and managing processes end‑to‑end.

Contribute to the smooth and successful prosecution and management of client portfolios.
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Patent Assistant or Patent Paralegal within a U.S. practice.

Solid understanding of USPTO patent prosecution and PCT procedures.

Strong attention to detail and a highly organised working style.

Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and patent‑specific software tools.

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Confidence working independently while collaborating with multiple attorneys.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience using patent docketing databases and patent document‑management systems.

IP paralegal certification or formal IP training (advantageous but not required).
