Role Description

Bring your U.S. civil litigation experience into a remote role where you will support complex personal injury defense matters from case opening through trial.

This is a hands-on litigation role for an experienced paralegal who understands how a U.S. civil case moves from inception through discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. You will work closely with attorneys on personal injury and civil defense matters, including cases in federal court.

The firm is looking for someone who can take ownership of assigned case files, maintain exceptionally organized records, and work independently once trained on its systems and procedures. Florida litigation experience is valuable, but strong U.S. federal civil litigation and personal injury defense experience will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned civil litigation matters from inception through discovery, deposition, hearing, and trial preparation stages.
• Maintain accurate, organized case files, client documents, discovery materials, correspondence, and litigation records.
• Review, analyze, summarize, and organize pleadings, discovery responses, medical records, and other case-related documents.
• Support attorneys with complaints, interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery-related materials.
• Obtain, organize, and track medical records, non-party records, and supporting documentation needed for active matters.
• Coordinate with witnesses, experts, clients, and other case participants while maintaining clear and professional communication.
• Prepare attorneys for client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials by ensuring relevant materials are complete and accessible.
• Assist with deposition preparation, including document organization, exhibits, records, and case summaries.
• Support federal court litigation matters while following applicable filing, case-management, and documentation requirements.
• Learn and consistently follow the firm's client-specific documents, naming conventions, workflows, and document-management procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies, or a recognized Paralegal Certificate.
• At least 3 years of hands-on civil litigation paralegal experience, ideally within the requested 3-5 year range.
• Substantive experience supporting U.S. litigation involving personal injury matters.
• Working knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, including pleadings, interrogatories, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Experience working with medical records and non-party records in litigated matters.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines, organize multiple active matters, and work independently after training.
• Personal injury defense or broader civil defense litigation experience.
• Federal court litigation experience.
• Florida civil litigation experience (nice to have).
• Previous experience supporting a U.S. law firm remotely.
• Experience communicating with and coordinating experts and witnesses.
