The Legal Research & Recruitment Specialist (Expert Witness Sourcing) strengthens legal case outcomes by connecting firms with highly specialized witnesses, while building a long-term global career with Emapta's top 1% experience for top 1% talent.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or currently pursuing a law degree (Malaysia or international qualifications are welcome).

At least 2 years of experience in legal services, professional services, specialist recruitment, or a research-intensive role.

Strong analytical thinking with the ability to assess complex information quickly and make commercially sound decisions.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to engage senior professionals and legal practitioners confidently and credibly.

Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to align legal clients, expert witnesses, and internal teams toward the right outcome.

High attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities without compromising quality.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Legally eligible to work in Malaysia.

Experience working with international companies is an advantage.
Requirements

Expert Witness Sourcing & Assessment

Analyse legal case briefs to understand case context, technical requirements, and client objectives, and challenge the scope when appropriate.

Identify and engage suitable expert witnesses across industries, jurisdictions, and non-traditional professional backgrounds.

Assess expert candidates for suitability, independence, availability, and alignment with case requirements.

Deliver expert profiles with capability assessments, credibility evaluations, and commercial fit analysis.

Client & Expert Engagement

Build trusted relationships with legal clients by clarifying requirements, providing sourcing guidance, and managing expectations throughout each engagement.

Engage legal clients and leading expert witnesses with confidence, professionalism, and credibility.

Develop and maintain a responsive network of high-quality expert witnesses to support urgent and complex case requirements.

Network & Knowledge Management

Collaborate with Case Management teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of expert recommendations and case-related materials.

Maintain the internal expert database with sourcing insights, engagement notes, and commercial risk indicators.

Monitor industry developments and emerging disciplines to expand the expert witness network.

Contribute to process improvements, sourcing strategies, and team knowledge sharing.
