[Hiring] Legal Engineering Lead @BoostDraft

Role Description

BoostDraft is seeking a leader whose role extends beyond overseeing internal legal affairs to driving product development and business growth. Leveraging your expertise gained in law firms or corporate legal departments, you will lead the enhancement of our product to solve customer challenges, support enterprise deployments, and drive the overall digitization of the legal sector.

Many legal professionals spend a significant portion of their time on tasks like document formatting, correcting inconsistencies, and verifying cross-references, rather than engaging in core legal strategy. BoostDraft addresses these operational inefficiencies through technology, providing an environment where experts can focus on their primary responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Product Development Contribution:
  • Logically deconstruct complex legal workflows and collaborate with the development team to define functional requirements.
  • Bring deep legal expertise to achieve technical excellence through rapid iteration, experimentation, and actionable feedback.
• Enterprise Customer Success and Value Maximization:
  • Lead the strategic rollout and adoption of BoostDraft at top-tier law firms and global enterprises.
  • Lead product adoption and be accountable among BD leadership for continually growing customer satisfaction quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Drive account growth by identifying and executing upselling and cross-selling opportunities to increase overall business revenue.
• Public Relations and Brand Awareness:
  • Evangelize BoostDraft and the evolving role of Legal Engineering by sharing insights at major industry conferences.
  • Articulate our company's vision and the latest trends in legal sector digitization.
• Organization Building and Talent Development:
  • Recruit and train team members with legal expertise (Legal Experts).
  • Build an organizational structure capable of consistently and autonomously generating high results.
• Corporate Legal and Governance Oversight:
  • Contribute to the update of the due diligence process with respect to global expansion.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law (in Japan or another major jurisdiction).
• Business-level fluency in both Japanese and English.
• 3+ years of practical experience in a law firm or corporate legal department. Experience managing legal operations is a strong plus.
• A strong commitment to solving challenges in the legal sector through the application of technology.

Requirements

• Fully remote working arrangement.
• Flexible working time: 6:00 am - 11:30 am / 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
• Core time: 11:30 am - 3:00 pm.
• Possibility of commuting to a location designated by the company due to business reasons.
• 5-day workweek (Saturday, Sunday, Public Holidays / End of Year and New Year holidays set by company).
• Full-time employment (Fixed overtime pay included).
• 6 months probation period.
• Prevention of passive smoking.
