[Hiring] Legal Counsel @Tines

Role Description

Tines is looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our growing global Legal team. This is a remote role based in Ireland, with occasional travel to Dublin and other Tines locations.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be a key legal partner to our global Sales organization, supporting commercial transactions across EMEA and the United States. You will work closely with the existing Legal team, Sales leaders, Sales teams, Deal Desk, Customer Success, Partnerships, Finance, and Security.

This is a commercial, sales-driven role. You will independently lead customer negotiations, provide practical and timely advice, and help the business close deals while appropriately managing legal risk.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead negotiations for customer agreements across EMEA and the United States, including SaaS agreements, software licensing terms, DPAs, security terms, SOWs, NDAs, and related commercial documents.
• Partner closely with Sales leaders, Sales teams, and Deal Desk to support transactions from initial review through signature.
• Provide practical, risk-based advice that helps the business reach workable outcomes and move deals forward.
• Advise on liability, indemnification, intellectual property, privacy, security, service commitments, and other commercial issues.
• Review and negotiate reseller, referral, integration, technology alliance, and other partner agreements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Security, Customer Success, Product, and other teams on commercial and customer matters.
• Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and Sales enablement materials.
• Help improve and scale contracting processes as Tines’ global sales organization grows.
• Support broader Legal team initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant legal experience, including 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience.
• Qualification as a solicitor or lawyer in Ireland, England and Wales, or another relevant EU jurisdiction.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology agreements.
• Experience directly supporting Sales teams and managing customer negotiations.
• A strong understanding of the legal issues affecting SaaS and software transactions.
• Excellent commercial judgment and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
• The ability to distinguish material legal risks from issues that can be resolved through practical compromise.
• The ability to manage multiple negotiations and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfort operating autonomously within a distributed, international organization.
• Authorization to work in Ireland.

Experience That Would Be Helpful

• Previous in-house experience at a SaaS, software, cybersecurity, or other technology company.
• Experience supporting commercial teams across EMEA and the United States.
• Experience with self-hosted software, regulated customers, or complex security requirements.
• Experience negotiating reseller, referral, integration, or other partner agreements.
• Practical knowledge of GDPR and international data transfers.
• Familiarity with AI products and the commercial, privacy, and intellectual property issues that arise when customers use them.
