[Hiring] Lead Corporate Investigator @Lumen

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Investigator to join our Ethics & Compliance team. In this role, you will lead complex internal investigations involving employee misconduct, ethics concerns, and business integrity matters. The ideal candidate brings deep investigative expertise, exceptional report-writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and objectivity. This position requires a skilled investigator who can independently manage multiple cases while partnering effectively with Human Resources, Legal, and business stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end internal investigations involving employee misconduct, ethics concerns, and business integrity matters.
• Manage multiple investigations concurrently, prioritizing work based on risk, complexity, and business impact.
• Conduct interviews with employees, witnesses, and stakeholders using a neutral, professional, and fact-based approach.
• Evaluate evidence, documentation, and investigative findings to identify trends, risks, and root causes.
• Prepare comprehensive Reports of Investigation that demonstrate clear analysis, sound reasoning, and well-supported conclusions.
• Present findings and recommendations to Human Resources, Legal, and senior leaders with confidence and credibility.
• Exercise strong judgment and maintain confidentiality when managing highly sensitive matters.
• Support broader Ethics & Compliance initiatives and special projects as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience as a Corporate Investigator in a corporate or government setting, conducting workplace, employee relations, ethics & compliance, fraud, business integrity, or related misconduct investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex investigations from intake through resolution.
• Strong investigative interviewing, evidence-gathering, analytical, and fact-finding skills.
• Exceptional written communication skills, including preparing detailed investigative reports and recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust while remaining objective and impartial.
• Experience working effectively in a remote or distributed work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate Degree
• Experience in publicly-traded corporation or equivalent organization
• Experience conducting EEO, workplace misconduct, employee relations, or ethics-related investigations.
• Background investigating business integrity, fraud, compliance, or corporate policy matters.
• Experience conducting investigations within a corporate environment.
• Experience conducting investigations within government agencies or public-sector organizations.
• Familiarity with employment law and workplace compliance requirements.
• Experience presenting investigative findings to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

• $84,629 - $112,838 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY
• $88,860 - $118,480 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
• $93,092 - $124,122 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
