[Hiring] Insurance Defense Attorney @Progressive Casualty Insurance Company

Role Description

As an insurance defense attorney within our bodily injury (BI) unit, you'll be a part of our motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team, providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation. Handling cases from beginning to end, you'll also:

• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs.
• Be involved in negotiating settlements.
• Work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation.
• Ensure all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes.
• Analyze written discovery, depositions, and medical records.
• Assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure.

The role is 100% remote, and candidates must reside in the state of Texas. Occasional in-person attendance may be required for litigation events, as well as periodic training sessions and meetings.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM).
• A minimum of two years general/auto litigation experience.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.
