[Hiring] Hospice Contract Specialist @Amedisys, Inc.

Role Description

Responsible for every phase of hospice contract development from researching the legal regulations to negotiating the terms and preparing the print document.

• Prepares contractual agreements using current research methods and a knowledge of a stakeholder's needs and ability to fulfill its requirements.
• Collaborates with legal team to review redlines proposed by vendor that create additional company risk.
• Ensures that the terms of contractual agreements are written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with the desires of the stakeholder.
• Assists stakeholder to fulfill the terms of or to terminate contracts on mutually amicable terms.
• Reviews contract terms and conditions of participation to verify that they follow company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations.
• Clearly explains contract terminology to stakeholder and other interested parties in simple, everyday language.
• Self-monitors progress according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner.
• Proofreads, edits, and fact-checks legal documents for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by the client.
• Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Procurement/Purchasing, and/or Supply Chain, and/or Paralegal, and/or Legal; and/or Supply Chain/Contract certification within one year of start date.
• Two (2+) years of experience working directly with contract law.
• Preferred: Certified Supply Chain/Contract Professional.
