Role Description

Goranson Bain Ausley is seeking a Fully Remote Family Law Paralegal! The paralegal will work closely with a GBA Partner to support the firm's clients in a manner that is consistent with our core values and vision.

• Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and orders for review, approval, and use by the attorney.
• Correspond with clients, opposing counsel and/or opposing parties, and court coordinators.
• Prepare spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and calculate child support.
• File pleadings with the court.
• Coordinate issuance and delivery of subpoenas.
• Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
• Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving problems/challenges that arise in family law cases.
• Draft discovery requests/responses, assist clients in complying with discovery requests and document production.
• Calendar relevant due dates regarding discovery and all deadlines associated with the TRCP.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred but not required.
• Paralegal certificate or certification preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience.
• Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail.
• Excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills.
• Ability to learn and utilize new software, technology and techniques as needed to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplace.
• Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience.
