Role Description

Represent clients in all areas of family law, including:

• Divorce
• Child custody
• Parenting time
• Child support
• Spousal support/alimony
• Prenuptial agreements

Prepare and draft legal documents including:

• Pleadings
• Motions
• Marital settlement agreements
• Contracts
• Judgments
• Orders across a high volume of cases

Appear in court on behalf of clients as needed, presenting arguments clearly and persuasively even in emotionally charged situations.

Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to move files efficiently through the civil litigation process.

Analyze complex family situations, develop strategy, and advocate effectively for each client's unique needs.

Manage and maintain client files with accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.

Handle matters involving sensitive issues including child abuse, domestic violence, and high-conflict custody with professionalism and composure.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Bar license required
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• 4+ years of family law experience at a law firm
• Demonstrated success representing clients in divorce, custody, support, and related family law matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong negotiation and advocacy abilities
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress, emotionally sensitive situations
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
