Role Description
The Export Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of export compliance activities related to advanced technology, particularly as related to human spaceflight and the International Space Station. The position reports to the Chief Legal Officer and is part of the Legal department. This role is fully remote.

Compliance Support:
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of export compliance policies, procedures, and processes to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.

Licensing & Documentation:
Prepare and draft export license applications and agreements for submission to government agencies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation.

Classification:
Collaborate with internal teams to determine export classifications, ensuring accurate categorization of products, technologies, and services.

Tracking & Records:
Monitor and track the status of active export licenses and agreements while maintaining comprehensive, audit-ready records.

Training Assistance:
Help develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on export compliance to employees and contractors to ensure a strong understanding of requirements.

Auditing:
Support regular internal audits and assessments to identify potential areas of export compliance risk.

Point of Contact:
Serve as a primary point of contact for the Export Control Manager regarding routine compliance inquiries and departmental coordination.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

3+ years of experience in export compliance; additional experience in trade compliance and U.S. Customs is considered a plus.

Working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), including licensing requirements and classifications.

Applicants must be eligible to obtain any required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
