Role Description
Join Job Duck as a Legal Assistant supporting a growing estate planning, probate, wills, and trusts practice. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing legal documents, managing client communications, and helping ensure matters progress smoothly from intake through completion. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of producing accurate work without sacrificing quality. Success in this position requires strong legal drafting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while remaining responsive and reliable throughout the workday. Monthly compensation: 1150 USD to 1220 USD
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage files and documentation throughout the matter lifecycle

Assist with trust administration matters and ongoing case management

Prepare and maintain trust accountings and related records

Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, and related legal forms

Assist in managing trust administration matters from intake through closing when applicable

Ensure timely follow-up and responsiveness to clients and internal team members
-
Prepare probate pleadings, probate filings, and supporting documentation
-
Support attorneys with administrative and legal assistance tasks as needed

Proofread correspondence and legal documentation before submission
-
Maintain accurate records within Clio and other firm systems
-
Organize case files, deadlines, and workflow tasks
-
Review legal documents for completeness, accuracy, and formatting consistency
-
Track and enter billable and non-billable time accurately

Communicate with clients regarding case status, document requests, and next steps

Conduct client outreach and follow-up communications by phone and video conferencing
Qualifications
-
Practice Area: Estate Planning, Probate, Wills, Trusts, and Trust Administration
-
2-3 years of experience drafting legal documents in a live legal environment
-
Massachusetts jurisdictional experience preferred
-
Direct experience preparing some or all of the following: Wills, Trusts, Probate pleadings, Trust administration documents, Trust accountings, Probate filings

Experience handling client outreach and follow-up communications via phone, email, and video meetings

Experience working with Clio is highly appreciated

Experience managing a complete trust administration matter from intake through accounting and closing highly preferred

Software and Tools: Clio, Vonage, Outlook, Connect (text messaging platform), Legal Practice Management Systems (PMS), CRM systems

Must be comfortable working directly with clients and handling communications independently
