Role Description

RPM Industrial Coatings Group is seeking an experienced Director of Regulatory Affairs to lead state, federal, and international regulatory compliance for Modern Recreational Technologies and Kop-Coat. This high-impact role will oversee regulatory strategy and compliance for coatings, preservation chemicals, biocides, and additives while serving as a key advisor to business and R&D leaders.

  • Lead the registration, renewal, and compliance of federal and state EPA registrations.
  • Prepare and manage new product registration submissions, including technical and toxicology packages.
  • Ensure regulatory documentation and records are accurate, current, and audit ready.
  • Support regulatory compliance across international markets, including Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, the European Union, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Partner with R&D and commercial teams to ensure regulatory feasibility throughout new product development.
  • Provide leadership with guidance on emerging regulations, regulatory risk, and product lifecycle strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with federal and state regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the company at industry associations, conferences, and regulatory events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related life science discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of regulatory affairs experience in a regulated chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations related to paints, coatings, preservation chemicals, biocides, or specialty chemicals.
  • Experience working directly with the U.S. EPA or state environmental agencies strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory registration systems such as PRIA/PREA, WORX, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare formal regulatory submissions and communicate complex regulatory matters to executive-level audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.
