Role Description
Acentra Health is looking for a Director, Contracts and Contracting Services to join our growing team.
The Director, Contracting and Contract Services is responsible for leading Acentra Healthโs contracting function, including:

Drafting, review, negotiation, execution, and management of a broad range of agreements across the organization.

Serving as a key business partner to leadership, ensuring contracts align with business objectives while managing legal and operational risk.

Driving consistency, efficiency, and quality within the contracting process.

Establishing standards, improving workflows, and developing a high-performing team.
-
Partnering cross-functionally to support enterprise priorities and navigate complex regulatory and contractual requirements.
Job Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the contracting and contract services function, including contract review, negotiation, administration, workflow management, and team performance.

Develop, mentor, and supervise contracting professionals, including contract managers and specialists.

Establish and maintain standards, processes, templates, playbooks, and escalation protocols to improve contract quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Partner with business leaders to align contracting support with company objectives, revenue goals, operational capabilities, compliance requirements, and client needs.

Lead or oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of agreements, including:

Government contracts

Subcontracts

Vendor agreements

Technology licensing agreements

SaaS agreements

Business associate agreements

Nondisclosure agreements

Data use agreements

Teaming agreements

Consulting agreements

Procurement-related contracts

Negotiate key contract terms, including:

Assess contract terms for legal, operational, financial, privacy, security, regulatory, and reputational risk.

Maintain working knowledge of government contracting requirements, procurement processes, flow-down clauses, and public sector contracting practices.

Partner with legal, compliance, privacy, information security, and operations teams to address regulatory and contractual requirements, including HIPAA and data protection obligations.

Evaluate and improve contracting workflows, intake processes, approval structures, template usage, contract lifecycle management systems, reporting, and recordkeeping.

Develop and implement metrics and reporting to track contract volume, cycle time, risk exposure, negotiation outcomes, and team performance.

Support implementation and optimization of contract lifecycle management tools and related technologies.
-
Identify recurring contract issues and recommend process, policy, template, or training improvements.

Provide leadership and direction across the contracting and contract services team.

Oversee team performance, workload management, and professional development.
-
Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
Qualifications

Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree, law degree, MBA, or relevant professional certification preferred.

Ten or more years of progressive experience in contracting, contract management, or procurement.
-
Strong experience in government contracting and public sector procurement environments.
-
Demonstrated experience leading contracting teams and managing high-volume, complex contract workflows.
-
Experience reviewing and negotiating complex commercial, government, vendor, subcontractor, and technology agreements.

Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, data privacy, and information security standards.

Strong understanding of common contract risk areas, including indemnification, limitation of liability, confidentiality, audit rights, service levels, termination, and compliance obligations.

Strong business judgment with the ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate legal and operational risks.
Requirements

Experience with technology licensing, SaaS agreements, and intellectual property-related contract provisions.

Experience implementing or managing contract lifecycle management systems and related tools.

Background in healthcare services, government contracting, or regulated industries.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to balance risk management with business objectives in complex contracting scenarios.
