We are seeking a Criminal Appeals Legal Assistant to support a criminal appeals law practice by helping manage case workflows, preparing legal documentation, and ensuring important deadlines and filings are handled accurately. The successful candidate will work closely with legal staff, communicate with clients and their families, and play a key role in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations. • Monthly Compensation Range: From 1,142 to 1,220 USD

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain accurate records and case documentation
• Track case progress and help ensure deadlines are met
• Assist the Office Manager and Paralegal with daily legal operations
• Help monitor active cases and follow up on pending items
• Organize legal files and correspondence
• Coordinate with internal team members to support ongoing legal matters
• Prepare summaries and status reports for cases and clients
• Communicate with inmates' family members regarding case updates and information
• File final documents and representation agreements through court systems
• Produce legal documents using established templates

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working as a legal assistant or in a law firm
• Strong experience filing legal documents through court systems
• Legal document preparation experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
• Professional client service approach
• Case tracking and follow up skills
• Ability to work independently
• Proactive mindset
• Time management skills
• Clio experience preferred
• Clear and professional speaking voice

• Location and timezone: Remote, Eastern Standard Time (EST)
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday
• Expected call volume: Light (1-5 calls per day)

• CRM: Clio Grow, Clio Manage, Cadence Consult
• VOIP: RingCentral
• Email/Calendar: Google Workspace, Law Pay
• Work Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM [EST][EDT] (United States of America)
