[Hiring] Corporate Senior Associate 6+ PQE @LegalVision

Role Description

We are looking for a high performing 6+ PQE lawyer to join our highly successful corporate and commercial team as a Senior Associate. This position is ideal for a well-rounded corporate lawyer with demonstrated capital raising and M&A expertise.

• Work alongside a team of exceptional lawyers to deliver quality work and an exceptional experience to every client.
• Act for an incredibly diverse client base, helping them with a broad range of needs, including:
  • Capital raising (Seed, Series A, Series B, and beyond)
  • Sale and purchase of businesses
  • Employee incentive schemes
  • Shareholder agreements
  • Share buy-backs
  • Business structuring
  • Loans and corporate governance
  • General commercial law matters
• Work predominantly on capital raising and M&A matters.
• Our NZ team works fully remotely, with offsites and events a few times a year.
• Access to a coworking space in Christchurch for those local to the area.
• Allowance provided to set up a comfortable home office.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ PQE with strong experience in general corporate and commercial law.
• Demonstrated experience advising private companies on capital raising transactions (both equity and convertible instruments).
• Strong understanding of the legal and commercial challenges facing SMEs, including growth, governance, investor relations, and scaling operations.
• Experience drafting and negotiating investment documents, governance documents, and related corporate and commercial documentation.
• Ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear, practical, and commercially accessible way to non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to run matters autonomously while balancing multiple client priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a high-performing team.
