[Hiring] Complex Litigation Associate @Scale LLP

Role Description

Scale LLP, a modern, fully distributed law firm, is seeking an associate with 5-8 years of experience to join our growing litigation practice.

We're looking for an experienced litigation attorney (5-8 years) with a strong background in complex commercial litigation who is eager to take on sophisticated work as part of a collaborative national litigation team. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and takes ownership of their work. You'll have the opportunity to work on high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes alongside experienced litigators while receiving meaningful responsibility from Day One.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation matters.
• Trial experience.
• In good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Comfortable with multi-jurisdictional litigation, cross-border matters beyond just breach of contract.
• Demonstrated experience litigating in federal courts.
• Ability to independently manage significant portions of a case, including drafting dispositive motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and supporting trial, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
• Produce thoughtful, concise, and high-quality work product with strong attention to detail.
• Exercise sound judgment and proactively identify issues and solutions without requiring close supervision.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing timely updates and practical recommendations.
• Highly responsive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple active matters simultaneously.
• Enjoy collaborating with a national team on sophisticated business disputes involving a wide range of industries.
• At your best professionally when trying new things - not just a copy-and-paste attorney.

Requirements

• Possess a background in business, finance, or other commercially focused disciplines (ideally).
• Be located in the Central or Eastern Standard time zone (ideally).

• Base Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 based on experience.
