[Hiring] Case Cover Property Lawyer / Conveyancer @Eden Conveyancing

Role Description

This is a unique conveyancing role that offers far more variety than a traditional caseload position.

• Support residential conveyancing files when colleagues are on annual leave or otherwise unavailable.
• Ensure transactions continue progressing smoothly, providing continuity for clients.
• Provide additional support across the business when active cover is not required.
• Quickly assess a file, identify priorities, and build effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

Case Cover & Transaction Management

• Take temporary ownership of residential conveyancing files from instruction through to completion and file closure.
• Progress transactions effectively, ensuring key milestones, exchanges, and completions remain on track.
• Identify priorities requiring immediate attention.
• Maintain accurate case records, notes, and activity updates within the case management system.
• Resolve issues proactively to minimise delays and deliver positive customer outcomes.

Collaboration & Communication

• Develop strong working relationships with conveyancers and property lawyers across the business.
• Provide clear file notes, updates, and recommendations to support smooth handovers.
• Communicate proactively with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers, and other conveyancers throughout the transaction process.
• Support colleagues during periods of increased workload or operational demand.

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Identify and resolve conveyancing issues across a range of transaction types.
• Deliver work to a consistently high standard while meeting business performance expectations.
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and client-focused service delivery.

Supporting the Wider Business

• Support teams experiencing capacity challenges.
• Progress ageing or backlog matters.
• Assist with exchanges, completions, and critical deadlines.
• Contribute ideas and feedback to improve processes, workflows, and ways of working.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing residential conveyancing transactions with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Strong experience handling sales and purchases from instruction to completion.
• Experience of remortgage and transfer of equity transactions.
• Experience of freehold and leasehold matters.
• Strong communication and client care skills.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Confidence using case management systems and digital tools.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Ability to quickly understand and take ownership of existing matters.
• Strong team-working skills.
• Recent CPD, including AML training.
