Role Description

The Associate General Counsel will provide:

• Primary strategic legal counsel on clinical and commercial matters, including patient access and support, copay programs, and healthcare regulatory matters.
• Support to UBC’s Data Privacy and other Legal team members regarding privacy and data protection.
• Advice to cross-functional business, compliance, clinical, and commercial operations on complex legal and regulatory issues.

The successful candidate will bring:

• Broad and deep clinical trial and commercial regulatory knowledge.
• Sound judgment and experience with privacy and data protection.
• Practical knowledge of EU employment law and multi-jurisdictional employee relations.
• Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years legal experience, including at least 7 years in-house legal experience.
• Experience advising on global clinical trials and patient access/support programs.
• Familiarity with global privacy laws and regulations.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity in a life sciences setting.
• Experience advising on EU workforce matters.
