Role Description

We are looking for a VMware Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization, software-defined networking, and software-defined storage platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role covers:

• vSphere
• vSAN
• NSX
• Aria
• Tanzu

The focus is on:

• Automation
• Capacity management
• Operating a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads

The ideal candidate has:

• Operated VMware platforms at enterprise scale
• Navigated the evolving VMware product landscape pragmatically
• Strong automation and operations discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience
• Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
• Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management
• Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking
• Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling
• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM
• Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Requirements

• Design and operate VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX environments across data centers and hybrid cloud deployments
• Build and maintain Tanzu Kubernetes Grid environments for containerized workloads
• Implement vRealize / Aria Automation for self-service VM provisioning, lifecycle management, and policy enforcement
• Operate NSX-T for software-defined networking, including micro-segmentation and load balancing
• Manage vSAN clusters, storage policies, and storage performance for diverse workload classes
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity using Site Recovery Manager and replication
• Build automation for VMware infrastructure using PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, and vRO
• Design capacity management strategies including right-sizing, reservation, and workload placement
• Operate VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) deployments where applicable
• Implement and operate VMware integrations with cloud providers (VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE)
• Build observability for VMware infrastructure including performance, capacity, and compliance
• Lead VMware upgrades, lifecycle management cycles, and security patching across the virtualization estate
• Troubleshoot complex VMware issues spanning compute, network, and storage layers
• Stay current with VMware product evolution following the Broadcom transition
