[Hiring] Virtual Platform Administrator @Unity Technologies Corporation

Role Description

We are seeking a Virtual Platform Administrator to join our team. You will centrally manage, secure, and optimize complex virtualized infrastructures across on-premises data centers, as well as private, public, hybrid, and DoD cloud environments. Additionally, you will ensure continuous system stability and high availability through proactive lifecycle management, advanced performance monitoring, automated administration, and robust disaster recovery planning. You will be located in Dayton, PA.

• Hybrid Cloud & Virtual Infrastructure Operations
  • Infrastructure Management: Directs the daily operations and maintenance of comprehensive virtualized environments spanning on-premises data centers and commercial/DoD cloud architectures (private, public, and hybrid).
  • Virtual Resource Support: Provides end-to-end operational support for virtual machines, virtual appliances, software, and all associated infrastructure components.
• System Implementation & Lifecycle Management
  • Deployments & Upgrades: Executes implementations and upgrades for hosts, hypervisors, and virtual application software, including all supporting hardware and applications.
  • Patch Management: Systematically installs critical patches and release updates across the entire deployment pipeline, from development and testing to pre-production and production environments.
• Monitoring, Automation & Performance Optimization
  • Proactive Monitoring & Alerting: Continually tracks hypervisor and infrastructure health by monitoring error logs and configuring targeted alerts to guarantee environment stability.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyzes long-term performance trends and conducts capacity planning to optimize the operational efficiency of virtualized systems and applications.
  • Task Automation: Identifies and implements automation for routine administrative tasks to maximize operational efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
• Security, High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • System Integrity & Security: Enforces strict security protocols and ensures the high availability and integrity of all hosts, virtual management applications, and network resources.
  • Fault Tolerance & DR Planning: Actively participates in the development and execution of virtualization disaster recovery strategies and fault tolerance frameworks to ensure rapid service restoration.
• Troubleshooting & Configuration Management
  • Incident Resolution: Serves as the primary technical authority for diagnosing and troubleshooting complex system anomalies across hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructures.
  • Documentation & Change Tracking: Develops and maintains highly accurate, up-to-date system documentation, carefully tracking configuration baselines and environmental changes over time.

Qualifications

• Must possess a DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
• Must possess a DoD 8570/8140 approved VMware certification (VMware VCP-DCV 2020 or newer -OR- VCAP 2020 or newer)
• Must possess a Computing Environment certification, such as:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
  • AWS Certified Security-Specialty
  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2024 Certified Multi-cloud Architect Associate
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2024 Certified Architect Associate
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2024 Cloud Operations Professional
• A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in the management and maintenance of virtualized server environments and hosted applications. At least two years of qualifying experience must include managing successful large scale, multi-disciplinary (network, virtualization, systems administration) projects involving virtual servers.

Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
• A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Hands-on experience with Operational Technology/ICS environment (DOTNET).

Clearance Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must possess a DoD current Secret clearance.
