[Hiring] Senior Systems Engineer @ScalableOS

Role Description

The Senior Systems Engineer is a senior technical contributor responsible for advanced server and systems implementation, troubleshooting, and escalation support across a diverse client base within a remote MSP environment. This role handles complex infrastructure incidents escalated from Tier 1, drives proactive improvements, and serves as a subject matter expert for Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization, identity, storage, backup, and cloud platforms. The engineer works closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality, reliable managed services, and is expected to use AI tools to work faster and raise the quality of their work.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 or more years of hands-on systems or infrastructure engineering experience, preferably in an MSP or multi-client managed services environment.
• At least 2 years in a senior or lead technical capacity.
• Deep expertise across Windows Server, Active Directory, and at least one major virtualization platform (VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and a track record of using automation to improve operations.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for troubleshooting, scripting, or documentation, and the ability to use them responsibly is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, PCI-DSS) as they apply to systems security controls.
• Exposure to ITSM and ITIL practices within a managed services delivery model.

Requirements

• Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
• This is a fully remote position supporting clients across multiple time zones within an MSP environment. Candidates must be self-motivated, technically advanced, comfortable using AI tools in their daily workflow.
• Candidate must have experience with remote collaboration tools and workflows.
• Should be amenable to different shift schedules including night/graveyard shift schedule (US Time Zone).
• Shifts may vary and range between 8 to 12 hours, including weekends and holidays.
• This role is scheduled to support client’s extended-hours service delivery commitments.
• Shift schedules include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Specific shift assignments will be determined based on team coverage needs and may rotate (US Time Zone).
