[Hiring] Senior System Engineer @Sopra Steria

Role Description

For a BtoB contract: fully remote work is accepted. We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer (Automation) to join our Unix Squad. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of automation solutions that manage a large fleet of Unix/Linux systems.

You will be part of a collaborative and agile team responsible for automating operational activities such as:

• Patching
• Reboots
• Configuration management
• System provisioning

Additionally, you will provide third level support for the platforms and automation tools owned by the squad. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern automation technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure operations in a complex enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Linux system administration.
• Solid hands-on experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite.
• Good knowledge of EfficientIP.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Familiarity with GitLab and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of Linux storage technologies including LVM, filesystem management, and NFS/shared storage.

Nice to Have:

• Terraform.
• Kickstart.
• Podman.
• HAProxy.
• Job orchestration and workflow platforms such as VTOM or n8n.
• ServiceNow integrations.
• Experience maintaining Perl or PHP automation scripts.
• Exposure to AI and LLM based tools supporting automation, development, or documentation activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Linux Administrator, System Engineer, or Automation Engineer.
• Proven experience delivering automation solutions in enterprise environments.
• Experience working within Agile and collaborative teams.

Education

Language Requirements

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
• Knowledge of an additional European language is considered an asset.
