Role Description

Own the opportunity as a Senior Principal Cloud Engineer and help ensure the mission is never interrupted. You will serve as a technical leader architecting, deploying, securing, and sustaining enterprise multi‑cloud platforms across Azure Government, AWS, and hybrid environments at multiple security classifications. Your work will directly advance our clients’ missions while providing meaningful professional growth in a people‑centric environment.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Design and architect secure, scalable multi‑cloud solutions across Azure Government, AWS, and hybrid environments supporting multiple security classifications.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cloud engineers sustaining operations across multi‑cloud, multi‑classification enterprise platforms.
• Plan, architect, and execute hands‑on deployment of complex Digital Engineering solutions including Cameo/Teamwork Cloud, IBM DOORS, AutoCAD, and model‑based engineering ecosystems.
• Manage platform and infrastructure security from OS through cloud layers in accordance with RMF, NIST 800‑53, DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and the Cloud Computing SRG.
• Architect and implement identity, access, and trust services including ICAM, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and Zero Trust Architecture models.
• Drive cloud modernization efforts including rehosting, replatforming, and PaaS adoption using the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Azure Well‑Architected Framework.
• Oversee operational outages, lead incident response, restore mission systems, and ensure resilient cloud networking, VDI environments, and client applications.
• Develop platform automation using Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform/Bicep, event‑driven workflows, and Dynatrace‑integrated AIOps capabilities.
• Engineer cloud networking architectures including VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, firewalls, routing, DNS, and private service endpoints.
• Optimize cloud environments using FinOps principles, cost governance, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Support DevSecOps processes through GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, configuration management, and automated testing workflows.
• Maintain and enhance enterprise client apps, VDI platforms, cloud workstations, and Digital Engineering production environments.
• Coordinate with security, compliance, and mission stakeholders to approve architectures, validate controls, and ensure ongoing operational readiness.
• Prepare and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, security packages, continuity plans, and engineering artifacts.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience architecting and engineering solutions across Azure Government, AWS, and hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated leadership managing and mentoring engineering teams in secure, mission‑critical environments.
• Deep knowledge of RMF, NIST 800‑53, DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, Cloud Computing SRG, and Zero Trust principles.
• Hands‑on expertise with identity services (ICAM, SSO, MFA, conditional access), cloud networking, and security hardening across OS and cloud layers.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation (Terraform, Bicep, Ansible Automation Platform), GitOps, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Experience deploying and sustaining Digital Engineering ecosystems (Cameo/Teamwork Cloud, IBM DOORS, AutoCAD) and VDI platforms.
• Strong incident response, problem‑solving, and operational restoration experience in high‑impact environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across security, compliance, and mission stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Azure/AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP, CCSP).
• Senior‑level experience (typically 10+ years) in cloud architecture, security, and operations.
• Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.

Requirements

• Experience supporting IL5/IL6 or other high‑security cloud enclaves.
• Advanced experience with FinOps practices, cost governance, and performance optimization.
• Experience with event‑driven automation and AIOps platforms (e.g., Dynatrace integrations).
• Industry certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CISSP, CCSP, or similar.
