[Hiring] Senior Oracle Database Administrator @West 4th Strategy

Role Description

We need an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) at the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO). In this role, you will serve as the senior technical resource for all Oracle database administration, troubleshooting, and configuration.

• Support proactive capacity planning and system health monitoring for Oracle database environments.
• Manage and resolve assigned RFCs and ServiceNow tickets in accordance with operational SLAs.
• Assist internal customers/users with building, configuring, and troubleshooting Oracle databases.
• Troubleshoot database issues and application-level integrations tied to Oracle backends.
• Produce weekly support activity reports documenting work performed and outcomes.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle Database in enterprise production environments.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Grid and Oracle RMAN technologies.
• Experience with daily operations, monitoring, and issue triage for Oracle database environments.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) for request lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with database monitoring/capacity planning tools (e.g., Idera, SolarWinds, or equivalent).
• Ability to execute Requests for Change (RFCs) under formal change management processes.
• Experience troubleshooting database issues and application-level integrations connected to Oracle backends.

Requirements

• Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), or equivalent).
• Experience supporting federal government database environments or GSA Schedule-based task orders.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud-hosted Oracle environments.
• Working familiarity with MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS Access.
• Exposure to SQL Server environments (a plus).

Benefits

• Salary range: $130,000 – $140,000.
