[Hiring] Senior IT Security Auditor @APTNEXUS

Role Description

AptNexus is seeking a Senior IT Security Auditor to perform cybersecurity compliance audits for our Department of Treasury customer. The program audits federal, state, and local government organizations that receive sensitive federal data, evaluating their information systems against security requirements tailored from NIST SP 800-53. In this role, you will:

• Plan and conduct audits of technical and management controls.
• Perform hands-on configuration testing across operating systems, databases, network devices, cloud services, and mainframe platforms.
• Deliver clear, defensible findings to customer personnel and the audited organizations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven (7) years of cybersecurity experience.
• At least five (5) years conducting federal cybersecurity audits or security control assessments.
• Expert working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 (moderate and high baselines).
• Hands-on experience testing and validating security configurations on various systems.
• Experience assessing cloud environments across SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS service models.
• Experience auditing mainframe security, including IBM RACF or ACF2 (preferred).
• Proficiency with automated scanning and compliance tools.
• Exceptional technical writing skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Detail-oriented self-starter.
• Polished written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound professional judgment, objectivity, and integrity.

Requirements

• Must have at least one of the following certifications:
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (preferred)
  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
  • GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA)
• Must meet federal eligibility requirements for a position of public trust.
• Must complete customer-required security awareness training upon onboarding and annually thereafter.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $115,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
• Full-time, remote work schedule.
• Must be available during core business hours (Eastern Time).
• Travel to audited organization sites may be required on occasion, with advance notice.
