Role Description

The Lead Network Architect designs and develops IT infrastructure architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Network Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

• Provides Level 3 design, engineering implementation & support for the Data Center Network Engineering team at Humana.
• Performs on-call and implementation duties on nights and weekends as required.
• Performs advanced Data Center Network design, implementation and troubleshooting (CLOS L3 Spine/Leaf, VxLAN BGP EVPN, MEC, MLAG, vPC).
• Performs advanced Palo Alto design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Performs advanced Cisco Nexus Route/Switch design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Performs advanced Arista Route/Switch design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Reviews Humana provided business requirements with Humana Network Architects & Engineering teams.
• Creates High Level Design & diagrams based on provided business requirements.
• Creates Low Level Design & traffic flow diagrams based on provided High Level Design diagrams.
• Creates Low Level Design cabling matrix based on provided High Level Design diagrams.
• Verifies all necessary equipment and WAN circuits are in stock or have already been ordered.
• If additional equipment or WAN circuits are needed, quotes them and reviews with project team, then works with Humana network leadership to get them ordered.
• Creates implementation plan (build/deploy plan), verification, and backout to accomplish Low Level Design.
• Creates implementation Change ticketing in Service NOW, and coordinates with PM to communicate outage windows following Humana standards.
• Implements (performs build/deploy) - with appropriate change ticketing/coordination.
• Performs post implementation validation/verification and performance testing - documents results and provides to Humana.
• Participates in On-Call rotation.
• Performs after-hours solutions implementation; supports other teams as needed, after-hours.

Qualifications

• Enterprise hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto design, deployment and troubleshooting.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with VxLAN BGP EVPN multi-vendor technology as well as an Architect level knowledge set.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with BGP as well as an Architect level knowledge set.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with CLOS L3 Spine/Leaf topology as well as an Architect level knowledge set.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with the following management tools: Cisco NDFC/Nexus Dashboard, Arista Cloud Vision Portal, Palo Alto Panorama.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with the following observability tools: Gigamon, Live Action, Arista DMF, Viavi.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with QOS.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with Multi-tenancy.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with Internet ingress/egress design.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with AI/NVIDIA designs, deployment and operations.
• Enterprise hands-on experience with the following DC/Transport providers: Equinix Fabric, Bare Metal, Megaport VXCs, MVE, MCR, AT&T TAOS.
• Strong understanding of IaC concepts and hands-on experience with automation and CI/CD.
• Master's Degree in a Technical Field.
• PMP or PMI certification.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
• A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
• Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
• While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
