Role Description

Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and monitoring the organisation’s IT production and integration systems. The role provides first- and second-line technical support, investigates and resolves system and data-related issues, and ensures that IT services remain stable, secure, and reliable.

The position works closely with end users and other IT teams to troubleshoot incidents, improve service delivery, maintain accurate technical documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and IT processes. The successful candidate should be analytical, methodical, service-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Relevant industry certifications, such as ITIL Foundation
• Experience in Windows Server environments
• University degree or graduate qualification in a related discipline, such as Information Technology, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (advantageous)
• Relevant industry certifications (advantageous)
• Experience in a systems operations environment (advantageous)
• Knowledge of SQL (advantageous)
• Experience in Data Warehousing (advantageous)

Requirements

• Provide first- and second-line support for business systems.
• Manage and maintain support tickets throughout the incident lifecycle in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
• Investigate and resolve data and system inconsistencies reported by users.
• Collaborate with relevant IT teams to resolve technical issues and improve service delivery.
• Build, maintain, and regularly update system documentation, including:
• Architecture overviews and diagrams
• Security policies and procedures
• System policies and procedures
• Data protection and retention procedures
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans
• End-user documentation
• End-user training materials
• Support team documentation
• Monitor systems and produce relevant reports.
• Manage and drive system incidents, problems, and change requests through to resolution.
• Provide technical support for desktop systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to desktop performance, network connectivity, and system access.
• Provide technical guidance and support to end users, ensuring minimal downtime and an optimal user experience.
