[Hiring] Epic Applications Analyst II @St. Charles Health System

Role Description

The Epic Applications Analyst II at St. Charles Health System is responsible for planning and executing all facets of the life cycle for software applications supporting our hospitals and ambulatory clinics, maximizing business value to users. The Analyst coordinates decisions and issues for an application area and conducts the design, build, testing, and deployment of the Epic Electronic Health Record and supporting IT systems. This position does not directly manage any other Caregivers.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Leads efforts to install and implement system patches, service packs, and version upgrades.
• Collaborates with system users towards continuous improvement of business value delivered by software applications.
• Leads integrated area workgroups across application and operational teams.
• Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the Epic EHR.
• Investigates standardization and process improvement opportunities.
• Organizes and vets potential system enhancement needs.
• Ensures validity and integrity of interfaced data.
• Evaluates Community Connect needs and integration with design.
• Participates in Governance Committees such as domain groups, RAC, CPAC, etc.
• Obtains proficiencies in other applications including Data Courier.
• Designs and executes small-to-medium scale application testing.
• Troubleshoots, identifies root cause, and documents problems for assigned applications and systems.
• Analyzes and manages systems to ensure service level agreements are met.
• Collaborates with caregivers and vendors to build strong relationships.
• Maintains data integrity and security for assigned applications and systems.
• Assists in user training and mentors Application Analyst Level I's.
• Works with team leads and management regarding priority and schedule conflicts.
• Manages small-scale projects and completes associated Project Management deliverables.
• Develops system documentation as assigned per standards.
• Participates in on-call rotation and after-hour escalation calls.
• Supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization.
• Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent work experience.
• Preferred: Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in public or business administration, management information systems, or computer science.

Requirements

• Required: Epic certification in 1 application; must complete Epic certification training if not already certified.
• Ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements and travel to business functions/trainings/meetings.
• Required: Minimum of four (4) years paid experience, two (2) of which need to be as an Epic Analyst.
• Preferred: Experience with Hospital-based and Ambulatory Clinic-based applications such as 3M, GE, WorkDay, Cerner, Allscripts, or McKesson.
