[Hiring] Technical Recruiter, AI @Lazer

Role Description

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of recruiting experience sourcing and screening technical talent — software engineers, AI/ML engineers, or adjacent roles.
• Active AI tool user — sourcing agents, automated outreach sequences, AI-assisted screening.
• Credibly fluent on the AI engineering side — can hold a conversation about LLMs, agents, RAG, or evals.
• Strong written communicator — outreach gets opened and replied to because it sounds like a real person who did the research.
• Organized and proactive with admin — keeps the ATS clean and moves candidates through stages without being chased.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, low-structure environment.

Requirements

• Source proactively for AI and engineering roles across Lazer's Core practice.
• Manage candidate communications end-to-end: scheduling, coordinating interview loops, keeping candidates warm and informed.
• Maintain clean, accurate records in Ashby — stage updates, notes, sourcing tags.
• Screen inbound and sourced candidates at the top of the funnel and pass well-qualified profiles to the Senior Technical Recruiter.
• Use AI to do more — build or use sourcing agents, automate repetitive outreach tasks.
• Support offer logistics — reference checks, scheduling debrief calls, tracking offer status.
• Learn the market — develop fluency in AI engineering comp and what candidates care about.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience recruiting specifically for AI/ML engineering roles.
• Familiarity with Ashby or comparable ATS.
• Existing network in AI engineering or tech talent communities in US or Canada.
• Experience building or using sourcing automation tools (Clay, Apollo, etc.).
