Role Description

The Senior Configuration Professional is a Workday Talent and Performance functional expert who partners with HR, Talent, Performance, Technology, and other business stakeholders to design, configure, test, implement, and support scalable solutions that align with business objectives and enhance the associate experience.

• Translates business requirements into sustainable system solutions.
• Provides strategic guidance on Workday capabilities and leading practices.
• Ensures configuration changes align with enterprise standards, governance, and long-term HR technology strategy.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends technology solutions.
• Helps maintain platform stability and consistent user experience.
• Develops expertise in areas such as performance management, goals, feedback, talent reviews, succession planning, career development, skills, and emerging talent technologies.
• Evaluates new Workday functionality and industry trends to improve business outcomes.
• Leads requirements gathering, solution design, impact assessments, and configuration activities.
• Collaborates with IT and integration teams on design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Supports governance activities including release management, testing, documentation, change control, and ongoing optimization.
• Provides advanced troubleshooting and Tier 3 support for complex issues.
• Drives continuous improvement to ensure Workday and related HR technologies effectively support associates, leaders, and business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience configuring and supporting HR technology solutions, including at least 3 years of hands-on Workday configuration experience.
• Experience configuring and supporting Workday Talent and Performance functionality, including one or more of the following: Performance Management, Goals, Feedback, Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, Skills.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into scalable Workday solutions.
• Experience configuring and maintaining Workday business processes, condition rules, notifications, security considerations, and related framework components.
• Experience supporting testing activities, including unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production validation.

Requirements

• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex issues in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Workday Pro certification in Talent, Performance, HCM, or related areas.
• 7+ years of HR technology/HRIS experience, including leadership of Workday implementations, enhancements, or transformations.
• Experience supporting skills-based organization, workforce transformation, Workday releases, integrations, and governance processes.
• Strong skills in Workday reporting, dashboards, data analysis, and AI-enabled HR technologies.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and working in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Talent Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, and broader HR processes.

• This role will be an independent contributor.
• This role will not have travel.
• This role will be fully remote within the U.S.
• This role is not open to Sponsorship.
• You will report to an Associate Director.
• Work at Home Requirements: Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps is required.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
• Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$97,900 - $133,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
