[Hiring] Retirement Consultant @Intermountain Health

Role Description

Provide support in the key functional areas of Retirement including the administration of the defined benefit plans, including pension calculations and administration, benefit payments, and retiree welfare benefits; and/or of the defined contribution plans, including payroll contributions, reconciliations, reporting and working with the TPA for all contribution plan transactions.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for assisting caregivers, participants & retirees with specific inquiries and processing retirement related transactions.
• Provide support and strategic direction to HR Business Partners, Leadership, Caregivers and Retirees in the key functional areas of Retirement.
• Receive, prioritize, document, and actively resolve caregiver & retiree requests.
• Comply with all ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations and guidelines pertaining to defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
• Ensure compliance with plan documentation and safeguard Intermountain Retirement plan assets.
• Interact with retirees and others to consult and educate, following up on requests for information or research.
• Provide navigation support and coaching to caregivers, participants, and retirees on how to use the self-serve portal.
• Run pension calculations, determine vesting and benefit service requirements, and research problems or discrepancies.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the retiree welfare benefits and communicate changes and updates to retirees and participants.
• Understand Defined Contribution Plans and calculate adjustments into payroll system as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated functional work experience in human resources or knowledge of the retirement industry, roles, and terminology.
• Basic understanding of human resource & retirement related laws and regulations.
• Excellent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Requires a high degree of accuracy, close attention to detail, and the ability to recognize and solve problems.

Requirements

• Prior retirement plans experience, preferably with Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit Plans, or trust operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.
• Advanced proficiency within the Workday and Service Now systems.
• Knowledge of defined contribution and defined benefit processing systems or plan sponsor sites.
• Human Resources experience in a healthcare setting.
