Role Description

As our Region Director, Physician Recruitment and Onboarding, you will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the comprehensive physician recruitment and onboarding processes across a designated region within our healthcare system. Every day you will oversee the full lifecycle of physician talent acquisition, including:

  • Market analysis
  • Sourcing strategies
  • Candidate evaluation
  • Contract negotiation
  • A seamless onboarding and credentialing process

  • Strong executive leadership and strategic planning skills
  • A deep understanding of physician compensation models
  • Recruitment best practices
  • The complex healthcare talent market
  • Proven experience in leading a high-performing physician recruitment and onboarding function within a large healthcare system

The Director of Physician Recruitment is responsible for all activities in relation to provider recruiting, for both Dignity Health Medical Foundation and for the independent community practices affiliated with the Dignity Health hospitals. Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the achievement of Medical Foundation and Dignity Health Service Area operational and strategic goals through provider recruitment
  • Partnering with leadership to understand business strategies and developing plans to build needed organizational capabilities
  • Organizing and aligning Provider Recruitment to support business imperatives
  • Establishing and maintaining an agile, respectful, efficient, and effective structure and staff
  • Diagnosing and determining the scope of organizational issues relative to Provider Recruitment
  • Developing and leading implementation of solutions
  • Leading all provider recruitment activities for Dignity Health Medical Foundation and community/independent practices
  • Formulating a recruitment plan based on Medical Foundation needs and community needs
  • Working closely with Chief Medical Officer/Executive Director/physician leaders to define provider needs and recruitment strategies
  • Aligning recruiting efforts with organizational strategies/objectives
  • Establishing regular communications with leadership and physician candidates
  • Utilizing electronic resources effectively to provide distinctive and timely customer service

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or appropriate experience can be substituted for education, upon hire
  • 7-9 years of experience in physician recruitment or related physician relations activities, upon hire
  • Management experience, upon hire
  • Auto Insurance, upon hire

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in physician recruitment or related physician relations activities, upon hire
  • Experience with employment and independent practice models, upon hire
  • 4-6 years of management experience, upon hire
