Role Description

Shape the future of OIT’s civil-servant workforce and play a pivotal role in the transformational modernization of IT delivery for the State of Colorado. As a Principal HR Business Partner , you will act as a strategic, trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating complex business objectives into high-impact talent strategies and optimized organizational design. You will consult with managers at all levels and provide guidance on performance enablement, accountability, and development - and serve as the front door to HR for your clients.

Qualifications

• Strong background in proactive employee relations and coaching, with a proven track record of success in a professional environment.
• Deep understanding of HR principles and practices, with the ability to translate them into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Thrives in complex, highly matrixed organizations and adeptly interprets intricate policy, civil service, or labor relations frameworks.
• Passionate about creating inclusive and equitable workplaces.
• Extensive experience conducting thorough and fair workplace investigations.
• Experience applying digital accessibility regulations and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) to business processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive professional human resources experience, at least two (2) years of which must have been in a senior or principal role advising executive leadership on strategic workforce planning, organizational design, or complex employee relations.
• Experience managing high-risk employee relations matters, including leading formal investigations and navigating employment law compliance.
• Experience applying digital accessibility regulations and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) to business processes, content, tools, and/or documents, with the ability to provide specific examples of accessibility improvements made.
