Role Description

The People Operations Specialist acts as the operational anchor for our international team, driving end-to-end HR workflows across our US (~24 employees) and UK (<5 employees) operations. Reporting directly to the CHRO, this role takes ownership of day-to-day employee lifecycle tasks, payroll coordination via Justworks (US PEO) and BrightPay (UK), system administration, and remote workforce logistics. While primary focus is dedicated to the US and UK teams, this role will occasionally provide ad-hoc operational support to the local Philippines HR Manager as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• US & UK Payroll Coordination:
  • Lead semi-monthly US payroll administration via Justworks, tracking updates to salaries, deductions, and state tax setups.
  • Execute monthly low-touch UK payroll processing via BrightPay, ensuring routine HMRC reporting (RTI) and pension updates are maintained.
• Employee Lifecycle & Onboarding:
  • Execute end-to-end onboarding and offboarding for US and UK team members.
  • Manage system setup (Justworks, BrightPay, Slack, Google Workspace), collect required documentation, and coordinate laptop/hardware logistics.
• Benefits & Employee Helpdesk:
  • Serve as the first line of support for US employee inquiries regarding Justworks health plans, 401(k), and benefits.
  • Escalate complex legal, leave (FMLA/statutory), or compliance questions to Justworks HR advisors or the CHRO.
• Process Improvement & HR Systems:
  • Partner with the CHRO to design, document, and refine remote HR workflows, employee handbooks, and internal wikis.
  • Maintain clean, accurate employee records across all global HR systems.
• Ad-Hoc Local PH Support:
  • Provide light operational assistance or cross-coverage support to the Philippines HR Manager on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in HR Operations, People Ops, or global HR administration.
• Direct, hands-on experience utilizing US PEO platforms (e.g., Justworks, Gusto, Rippling) and familiarity with UK payroll tools like BrightPay (or similar software).
• Comfortable reporting directly to C-suite leadership (CHRO) and working with a high degree of autonomy.
• Ability to work US/UK operational hours (mid-shift/night shift in PHT).
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
