[Hiring] Payroll Administrator @Remote Recruitment

Role Description

Remote Recruitment is looking for a Payroll Administrator to work from home in South Africa for a UK employer. Payroll is the one thing that has to be right every single month, and this role is for someone who takes that seriously and enjoys the detail.

Full-time and 100% remote, working 09:00–17:00 UK time (11:00–19:00 SAST).

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly and weekly payroll runs accurately and on schedule
• Maintain employee records, starters, leavers and changes to pay
• Calculate overtime, statutory payments, deductions and expenses
• Answer payroll queries from employees clearly and discreetly
• Reconcile payroll reports and support year-end processes
• Keep records in line with data protection requirements

Qualifications

• Experience with payroll processing in a business or bureau environment
• Familiarity with payroll software such as Sage, Xero, BrightPay or similar
• Confident spreadsheet skills and strong numerical accuracy
• Discretion with confidential information
• A quiet home workspace, reliable computer and stable fibre internet
• A backup power solution for load shedding

Requirements

• A permanent, fully remote position with a UK employer
• Predictable UK business hours
• Training on UK payroll rules if you are coming from a South African payroll background
• Progression into payroll management or wider finance roles
• UK payroll experience is a bonus, not a requirement
