[Hiring] Life Sciences Recruiter — CQV & Validation @MMR Consulting

1wk ago - MMR Consulting is hiring a remote Life Sciences Recruiter — CQV & Validation. 💸 Salary: unspecified 📍Location: Northern America

Role Description

This is not an IT, software, or general corporate recruiting role. We are hiring a recruiter who can hold a technical conversation about commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) in a GMP manufacturing environment.

If you have recruited validation engineers, C&Q specialists, automation engineers, or QA professionals for pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device organizations, please apply.

You will own full-cycle recruitment for engineering and technical consulting roles: CQV / validation engineers, process and automation engineers, utilities and HVAC engineers, project managers.

The core of the job is technical screening. You will be the first and, in many cases, the only filter before a candidate reaches an MMR engineer or a client. We expect candidates you advance to be substantially pre-vetted.

You will not be doing this unsupported. You will have structured screening guides, scorecards, and regular calibration sessions with our engineering SMEs.

What you'll do

  • Sourcing and pipeline
    • Partner with hiring managers and project leads to translate technical staffing needs into search strategies.
    • Source and engage engineering and technical candidates across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors in Mexico, US, and Canada.
    • Write and publish job advertisements on LinkedIn, Indeed, career pages, and niche life-sciences channels.
    • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring project-based needs, including bench-ready CQV talent.
    • Review and validate job descriptions for alignment with local employment regulations, company policy, and industry standards.
  • Technical screening and evaluation
    • Screen resumes against role requirements and client expectations, distinguishing genuine hands-on execution from resume keyword coverage.
    • Conduct screening interviews that probe actual project experience: protocol authoring versus execution, equipment and system types, regulatory environment, phase of project involvement, and scope of ownership.
    • Produce candidate summaries covering qualifications, relevant project experience, strengths, gaps, and risks — with a clear recommendation.
    • Present shortlists to hiring managers and defend your reasoning.
  • Interview coordination
    • Schedule and coordinate screening and technical interviews.
    • Provide interview summaries and feedback after each screening.
    • Manage logistics and keep communication clear with candidates throughout.
    • Track candidate progress and protect the candidate experience.
  • Administration
    • Maintain accurate records in the ATS.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws, privacy regulations, and MMR recruitment policy.
    • Generate recruitment reports and hiring metrics.
    • Support additional talent acquisition initiatives and special projects.

What success looks like

Within six months, candidates you advance to technical interview should be arriving substantially pre-qualified, with technical rejections at that stage becoming the exception rather than the norm.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, the majority of it within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or engineering consulting environments.
  • Demonstrable experience recruiting technical roles such as CQV / validation engineers, process engineers, automation engineers, or engineering project managers.
  • Working command of the vocabulary: C&Q, IQ / OQ / PQ, FAT / SAT, cGMP, clean utilities (PW, WFI, clean steam), cleanrooms, process equipment, tech transfer, ASTM E2500.
  • English at C1 level or above, written and spoken.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and ATS platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously with strong organization and follow-through.
  • Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device organizations.
  • Working knowledge of FDA, Health Canada, EMA, and GMP frameworks.
  • Experience recruiting for consulting or project-based engineering services, including contract and contract-to-hire models.
  • Familiarity with engineering project lifecycles and pharmaceutical manufacturing facility operations.
  • Experience recruiting into US and Canadian markets from outside those countries.

How to apply

Send your resume to [email protected] with the subject line Life Sciences Recruiter — CQV , and include short answers to these two questions in your email:

  • In your own words, what is the difference between commissioning and qualification?
  • Describe one technical role you recruited for in a pharma, biotech, or medical device setting. What did you ask candidates to determine whether they were genuinely qualified?

Applications without answers to both questions will not be reviewed.
