[Hiring] Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist @Kentro

Role Description

Kentro is hiring a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist to support the USAID Human Capital and Talent Management (HCTM) / Human Resources Transactional Services (HRTS) contract. This position is part of the Data and Processing Division within the Office of Human Resources and combines human resource management knowledge with technical expertise in HR systems operations, data management, and process automation. The primary focus of this role is the ongoing maintenance and transition readiness of the Agency’s HRIS portfolio.

• Ensures system reliability, supports sustainment activities, and prepares systems and data for transition.
• Requires strong skills in data extraction, validation, and analysis to support operations, reporting, and transition planning.
• Serves as a technical point of contact for assigned functional areas and collaborates closely with subject matter experts to ensure data integrity.
• Supports transition activities, including data preparation and validation for migration, system decommissioning, cutover support, and maintaining continuity of operations.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining system documentation and knowledge management resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 7–10 years of experience in federal HR, HR technology, or HRIS program management.
• 3 - 5 years of experience with using National Finance Center (NFC) applications, such as NFC Mainframe, EPIC, Insight, SALL, and Reporting Center.
• Strong understanding of HR processes, HR data, and federal HR systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex data analysis, extraction, and validation using HRIS tools and reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with data migration concepts, including data mapping, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.
• Ability to document systems, processes, and data structures clearly and comprehensively for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with National Finance Center (NFC) systems, including strong working knowledge of HR Connect (or EmpowHR).
• Hands-on experience with HR Connect administration, including user provisioning, access management, and audit/control support.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot processing errors, identify root causes, and coordinate timely resolution.
• Strong experience with NFC reporting tools (e.g., NFC Insight), including the ability to run, modify, and interpret reports.
• Experience with data extraction, validation, and ensuring data accuracy across HR systems.
