Role Description

Join Amgen’s Mission of Serving Patients. In this vital role, you will lead the Human Resources activities for five global organizations within the Corporate Functions (CF) organization, with oversight spanning support for CIO.

  • Direct accountability for supporting the Technology organization, made up of approximately 2400+ staff around the globe.
  • One direct report who has shared accountability of the organization.
  • Join the senior leadership teams of the organizations you support.
  • Reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources.
  • Suited for a well-established Human Resources Director with a strong track record of driving organizational effectiveness, leadership development, workforce planning, and strategy.
  • Requires a strong people leader who works in a network across Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs).
  • Technologically adept and willing to leverage new technologies to improve work product and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients achieve key business objectives and increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with client leadership teams to define a vision that drives innovation, growth, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with global Centers of Excellence (COEs) to execute people strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees.
  • Develop strong partnerships with HR centers of expertise.
  • Combine data and people insights to coach and guide clients on HR and business-related issues.
  • Support Corporate Functions and client-specific HR metrics strategy and reporting.
  • Shape and foster a high-performing and highly engaged culture.
  • Lead talent management processes to strengthen the leadership pipeline.
  • Help manage and support Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B) efforts.
  • Lead large-scale change by partnering with leaders cross-functionally.
  • Work closely with the compensation team to monitor financial competitiveness.
  • Support the global delivery of HR initiatives.
  • Stay current on leading talent trends and deliver practical and insightful thought leadership.
  • Actively contribute to and collaborate with the broader HR team.
  • Have a growth mindset and learn about new technologies.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience OR
  • Master’s degree and 7 years of Human Resources experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of Human Resources experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources handling complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • 7+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Broad understanding of all human resources components.
  • Ability to understand business needs and develop strategic solutions.
  • Data evaluation expertise with a focus on insights and storytelling.
  • Strong capability in leadership development and succession planning.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Strong relationship management with an internal and external customer service focus.
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, consulting, and project management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority and interact with all levels of management.
  • Global mindset and ability to partner well with other HR and business functions.
  • Technologically adept and open to testing new technologies.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.

Salary Range

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is 167,444.90 USD - 226,543.10 USD.
