The Sr. HR Operations Specialist will play a key role in managing and optimizing all aspects of HR operations at MicroTransponder. This role will oversee HRIS systems management, payroll and benefits processes, compliance, reporting, compensation strategies, as well as support job description review and career development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset, a deep understanding of HR technology, and the ability to drive process improvements that support the company’s growth and HR objectives.

HRIS Optimization (Rippling):

Maximize the use of the Rippling HRIS system to streamline HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, performance tracking, and reporting.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify system gaps and implement solutions that align with the company's growth.
  • Regularly assess the system's functionality and suggest improvements for scalability, efficiency, and compliance.

Payroll & Benefits Analysis:

  • Analyze the current payroll and benefits processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement a go-forward plan to optimize payroll cycles, ensure accurate and timely compensation, and improve employee satisfaction with benefits offerings.
  • Collaborate with finance and external vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Deliver consistent, effective, and accurate communication with program participants; produce presentations and program materials including required notices, program-related correspondence, coverage summaries, and enrollment, transaction and claims materials
  • Ensure benefit program compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, and internal business controls.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality of service delivery in overall benefit administration and resolve employee issues.
  • Manage relationship and communications with employee benefits broker.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure all HR operations are compliant with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Lead HR audits and implement action plans for any discrepancies or gaps identified.
  • Prepare and deliver HR-related compliance reports to leadership, including compensation data, employee headcount, turnover, etc.

SOX Compliance & IPO Readiness:

  • Collaborate with the finance and legal teams to ensure HR processes are compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, particularly in areas of internal controls, financial reporting, and auditing.
  • Assist in preparing HR for the IPO process by ensuring HR policies, procedures, and systems are aligned with public company requirements.
  • Participate in internal audits and external audits, ensuring HR-related controls and documentation are in place and up to date for SOX compliance.
  • Help develop and implement the necessary HR controls, documentation, and reporting standards to meet IPO requirements.

Process Improvement & Scalability:

  • Continuously assess HR operations, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce administrative overhead, and scale HR practices as the company grows.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving efficiency, employee experience, and HR service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain HR documentation and best practices for scalability.

Employee Experience & Engagement:

  • Drive initiatives that enhance the employee experience, particularly in the areas of benefits, compensation, and HR systems interactions.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to implement employee engagement programs and ensure employees feel valued and supported through efficient HR processes.

Job Description Review & Updates:

  • Regularly review and update job descriptions across the company to ensure they are accurate, reflective of role responsibilities, and aligned with business needs.
  • Partner with department leaders to adjust job roles and descriptions based on evolving company goals and employee feedback.
  • Ensure that job descriptions are compliant with labor laws and consistent with internal HR practices.

Career Ladders & Development:

  • Collaborate with HR leadership to develop clear career paths and ladder structures for employees at various levels across departments.
  • Help design and implement employee development programs aimed at creating growth opportunities for employees.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of career development initiatives and adjust programs based on feedback and business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, HRIS management, payroll, and benefits.
  • Proficiency in Rippling or similar HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance and regulatory requirements, including FLSA, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience managing compensation and benefits programs in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
