Role Description

The Specialist II, Compensation and Benefits maintains market-aligned pay structures, ensuring compliance with compensation legislation and supporting leaders with salary decisions and job evaluations.

  • Utilize market data to create internal ranges for new roles within the organization consistent with our compensation philosophy
  • Ensure current role ranges are up to date with market by updating market benchmarks quarterly at a minimum
  • Research compensation practices to ensure compliance with current legislation and conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate in the development and strategic execution of adjustments to the organization's compensation philosophy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices to develop innovative plans
  • Provide guidance to leadership in preparation of job descriptions and job laddering for organizational consistency
  • Complete job analysis, job evaluations and job classifications
  • Respond to collaborator questions surrounding compensation and benefits
  • Support leaders in the determination of compensation for new hires or position changes
  • Provide appropriate level of education on benefits and compensation to stakeholders across various levels of the organization
  • Conduct pay equity analysis to ensure fair and consistent compensation practices across the organization
  • Coordinate and assist the open enrollment process, providing clear communication, guidance, and support to employees on benefits options and enrollment procedures
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of new or existing benefit offerings
  • Support new hires in understanding and enrolling in benefit plans during New Hire Enrollment period
  • Confirm that invoices accurately represent current enrollment data and proactively address any discrepancies
  • Develop and implement education programs to enhance new hire experience, collaborator understanding around compensation philosophy and benefit offerings

Qualifications

  • High school or general equivalent is required, bachelor's degree preferred, or relevant work experience in human resources or similar function in lieu of education
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize data
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work on multiple projects, within an environment that is dynamic
  • All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
