Role Description
The VP, Retail Alternatives Fund Accounting provides strategic oversight and guidance to the Fund Accounting Department in support of retail alternative products such as interval funds, tender offer funds, and BDCs.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree or equivalent.

8+ years of experience in a related field.

3-5 years of management and leadership experience.

Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Requirements
-
Oversees the launching of new funds, fund mergers, conversion of funds, and advisor/sub-advisor changes.

Occasionally performs daily review processes when the Senior associates and Managers are out of the office.

Oversees a variety of accounting activities in support of retail alternatives fund accounting.

Oversee training and development of key concepts related to retail alternative funds.
-
Support initiatives for continuous improvement in the operating model.
-
Provides leadership and consulting support to company executives and management on matters of people management, goal setting, policy development, and strategic implementation in support of achieving corporate objectives and business growth.

Participates in the development and execution of the annual Strategic Plan and communicates said Plan to the department.

Conceptualizes and implements initiatives to support business objectives.

Ensures departments resources are adequate for complete and timely reporting to clients and NASDAQ.

Ensures the training team has the tools and resources necessary to increase the overall knowledge of the department.

Works with the SVP and Executive team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

Identifies ways to make the team more efficient; recommends fund allocations, process changes, etc.

Reviews compliance with various regulatory restrictions and recommends changes to accounting procedures.

Assists in the coordination of the disaster recovery efforts for the department.

Provides guidance and support to independent SOC1 audits.

Reviews operational controls for adequacy, compliance, and integrity of data.

Manages associates within department including hiring, training, and developing associates.

Conducts one-on-one and team meetings with associates on a regular basis.

Establishes team and individual goals for department.

Fosters performance of associates and holds them accountable for their work.

Communicates changes and company information to associates.

Mentors associates through instruction, coaching, and providing real-time on-the-job experiences.

Manages client requests and ensures the needs of clients are met.

Communicates as needed with fund administration, transfer agency, and fundsβ custodian.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAβs)

Knowledge of FIS InvestOne, Spectra and OLE.

Understanding of accounting and finance principles.

Familiarity with complex securities such as derivatives, private equity, private credit, syndicated loans.

Knowledge of complex fund structures with Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV), Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFC).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
