Role Description
This internship program is part-time and remote. The program runs for 12 weeks starting February 1, 2027. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. independently. At this time, we do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
The
Spring 2027 Underwriting Undergraduate Internship
provides students with an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience within the underwriting function while developing foundational business, analytical, and professional skills.

Support the development of the next generation of diverse business professionals through direct exposure to underwriting operations, risk assessment, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making within the healthcare industry.

Participate in meaningful projects, support day-to-day underwriting activities, conduct research and analysis, and contribute to initiatives that impact business performance and strategic growth.
Typical responsibilities include:

Supporting the day-to-day operating objectives of the underwriting function

Assisting with analysis and reporting activities

Participating in projects and programs relevant to the business area

Contributing to the planning and implementation of initiatives

Conducting research that supports recommendations and proposals for action
Qualifications

Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
Requirements

Communicate effectively while interacting directly with colleagues, clientele, and/or other internal or external constituencies in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems.

Under supervision, provide entry-level professional services as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the area.

Undertake and/or participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.

Participate in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.

Conduct research and reporting inclusive of recommendations or alternative proposals for action as specifically requested by management.

Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.
