Role Description
As a Tax Senior Manager, you'll combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and business development capabilities to serve clients and mentor the next generation of tax professionals. You'll oversee complex tax engagements from start to finish, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and play a key role in firm operations and growth strategy in a modern, flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle tax review, signing, and client communication across a portfolio of individual and business engagements.

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients β including individuals, business owners, and those who are both β bringing emotional intelligence, proactive tax planning insight, and professionalism to every interaction.

Handle a broad range of return types with primary focus on 1040, 1041, and 1065, with additional exposure to entity returns including 1120 and 1120S.

Provide mentorship and serve as a technical resource for junior staff on complex tax and entity concepts, while maintaining an active workload of assigned engagements.

Collaborate with firm Partners on tax planning strategies, research on complex issues, and special advisory projects.

Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law developments and communicate relevant changes to clients and internal teams.
Qualifications

CPA license required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation or advanced degree preferred)

7+ years of recent public accounting experience with a strong focus on tax

Proven ability to manage multiple complex engagements simultaneously and meet deadlines

Experience supervising and developing professional staff at multiple levels

Strong client relationship management skills with a client-first service orientation

Demonstrated business development aptitude or interest in firm growth initiatives

Deep technical knowledge across a broad range of tax areas with strong research and analytical skills
